A tattoo shop employee was killed in a shootout with an armed suspect Tuesday night in Dallas\u2019 Cedar Crest neighborhood.<\/p>\n

The victim died at a hospital after exchanging gunfire with the attacker outside Legendary Ink.<\/p>\n

Police have not made an arrest or determined a motive.<\/p>\n

The confrontation erupted<\/a> around 10 p.m. when an armed person approached the employee outside the shop on East 11th Street<\/a> at Cedar Crest Boulevard.<\/p>\n

Both the suspect and victim fired shots at each other, according to police at the scene, Fox 4 KDFW reported.<\/p>\n

The employee suffered critical injuries and was rushed<\/a> to a hospital, where he died. His name has not been released.<\/p>\n

The suspect fled on foot immediately after the shooting. Police could not confirm whether the attacker was wounded in the exchange.<\/p>\n

Investigators are working to determine what sparked the deadly encounter. They have asked anyone with information to contact the Dallas Police Department.<\/p>\n

Legendary Ink operates in an area that has seen its share of violent crime.
