SAN ANTONIO \u2014 An investigation is underway after a North Side church was vandalized following Saturday’s No Kings Day protests. A city councilmember is also speaking out against political vandalism found in her district. <\/p>\n

Graffiti could be seen near the 281 Access Road and Evans Road, where the phrases “America Unite” and “No More Trump” were spray-painted, visible to drivers heading south toward downtown. On Saturday, thousands gathered at Travis Park as part of a nationwide protest against the Trump administration’s policies. <\/p>\n

District 9 Councilwoman Misty Spears reported seeing multiple graffiti tags throughout her district on the Northeast Side around 3 p.m. on the day of the protest. She says she believes in freedom of speech but this has crossed the line. <\/p>\n

“We care about all graffiti and tagging, but there\u2019s a difference when there\u2019s messaging and hate speech tied to it, and so it\u2019s important we get that removed as soon as possible,” Councilwoman Spears said. <\/p>\n

Councilwoman Spears immediately contacted law enforcement and public works to address the vandalism. We are working with the San Antonio Police Department to get an update on the investigation. <\/p>\n

It’s unclear if a suspect has been identified or if anyone is in custody.
