(WSMV) &#8211; A sawmill was destroyed in a fire\u00a0Saturday, according to Houston County Fire Chief James Stanley.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The Houston County Fire Department was dispatched to a sawmill on Hurricane Loop Road just after 3 p.m. Saturday.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"figure-img img-fluid mx-auto d-block\" alt=\"WSMV - template image\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/PYQCNXWUIVE27BALA565ZY2LFQ.png\" width=\"980\" height=\"199\" \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.wsmv.com\/page\/our-apps\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.wsmv.com\/page\/our-apps\/\">Here are instructions on how to watch WSMV4 live on various platforms.<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">It took crews around five hours to contain the fire. The sawmill was deemed a total loss, Stanley said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Stanley said the blaze was caused by high winds blowing sparks from the burning of mill saw dust.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Departments from the City of Erin, Humphreys County, Stewart County, Montgomery County, and Sylvia Yellow Creek Fire Departments, and the Tennessee Forestry Division all responded to the fire.<\/p>\n<p class=\"copyright |\">Copyright 2025 WSMV.
