EL PASO, TEXAS (KFOX14\/CBS4) \u2014 Authorities say an unmarked El Paso County Sheriff’s Office vehicle hit a pedestrian on Wednesday. <\/p>\n
According to the sheriff’s office, on Jan. 7 at about 5:41 p.m., the El Paso County Sheriff\u2019s Office responded to a motor vehicle collision involving an unmarked Sheriff’s Office vehicle at the intersection of Montana Ave. and Rich Beem Blvd. <\/p>\n
Preliminary information suggests the unmarked unit was traveling northbound on Rich Beem Blvd. and turned westbound onto Montana Ave. when a pedestrian entered the westbound lanes within the crosswalk, disregarding a traffic control device, the sheriff’s office said. <\/p>\n
The pedestrian, who has not been identified, was struck by the vehicle, and bystanders immediately provided aid until emergency medical personnel arrived. <\/p>\n
The pedestrian was then taken to a local hospital for further evaluation. The condition of the pedestrian is unclear. <\/p>\n
While the sheriff’s office has not released any further information about the incident, it remains under investigation.<\/p>\n
