Fifty people were detained during a series of immigration raids carried out across the Houston area this week, according to the Texas attorney general\u2019s office.<\/a>stated that its Criminal Investigation Division led the operations and transferred those detained <\/p>\n

The agency stated that its Criminal Investigation Division led the operations and transferred those detained to federal authorities.<\/p>\n

Operations targeted multiple locations and businesses that investigators say were connected to criminal activity. <\/p>\n

The attorney general\u2019s office also confirmed it recently entered into a 287(g) agreement with the federal government, which allows state agencies to assist with certain immigration enforcement duties. Additional operations are expected.Similar operations are expected to continue across the region.<\/p>\n
