EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14\/CBS4) \u2014 United States Secretary of Health and Human Services, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., has introduced a revamped food pyramid aimed at promoting healthier eating habits among Americans, particularly children. <\/p>\n
The new guidelines emphasize consuming real, unprocessed foods, such as fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and proteins, while steering clear of processed items. <\/p>\n
Pediatrician Dr. Janel Lynch with University Medical Center of El Paso explained that the shift towards less processed food could help combat rising rates of diabetes and obesity. <\/p>\n

The inverted pyramid encourages a diet rich in proteins, including red meat, provided it is not processed. <\/p>\n
The focus is on eating foods in their natural state, which is seen as a healthier option. <\/p>\n
Dr. Lynch noted, “Instead of telling people, don’t do this, don’t do that, you know, stay away from these foods… these are the foods we want you to go for. Eat, eat a bunch of these foods, eat all of these foods.” <\/p>\n
The new approach aims to encourage positive dietary choices by highlighting what to eat rather than what to avoid.<\/p>\n
