DAKOTA. ALL RIGHT. OKAY. THANK YOU. WE’RE FOLLOWING SOME BREAKING NEWS THIS MORNING. ONE WOMAN IS DEAD AFTER SHE CRASHED INTO A BARRIER IN OKLAHOMA CITY OVERNIGHT. THIS HAPPENED NEAR I-40 AND I-35 JUST AFTER MIDNIGHT. YOU CAN SEE THIS VIDEO THAT WE RECORDED FROM A TRAFFIC CAMERA THERE. YEAH. THIS CAR, ACCORDING TO OKLAHOMA HIGHWAY PATROL, WAS TRAVELING NORTHBOUND ON I-35 TO EASTBOUND I-40. THAT’S WHEN THEY WERE IN THE LEFT LANE AND WENT OFF THE ROAD. THEY EVEN STRUCK A BARRIER WALL AND IT CAUGHT ON FIRE. THE VICTIM HAS NOW BEEN IDENTIFIED AS 28 YEAR OLD PATRICIA JAMES FROM RIGHT HERE IN OKC. NOW, SOME LANES OF THIS INTERSTATE WERE SHUT DOWN, BUT THOSE ARE NOW BACK OPEN. WELL, LAW ENFORCEMENT AND VOLUNTEERS ARE STILL LOOKING FOR THIS MISSING YOUNG BOY, A 12 YEAR OLD RYAN RJ DAVIS, WHO WAS LAST SEEN IN CHICKASHA. NOW THERE’S ANOTHER SEARCH PARTY STARTING THIS MORNING. VERY SOON. BUT LAST NIGHT, THE COMMUNITY, THEY HAD A VIGIL. JORDAN, OUR TEAM HAVE BEEN COVERING THIS VERY CLOSELY. YEAH, WE’VE BEEN FOLLOWING THIS FOR SEVERAL DAYS NOW. THE COMMUNITY VERY CONCERNED. MEANWHILE, THIS KID’S MOM AND STEPDAD, THEY’RE BEHIND BARS, ACCUSED OF ABUSE. AUTHORITIES HAVE PROMISED THIS CHILD WILL NEVER HAVE TO GO BACK TO THAT ENVIRONMENT AGAIN. WE ALSO SPOKE TO ONE MAN AT THAT VIGIL, CLAIMING TO BE THE BIOLOGICAL FATHER OF RJ. HE SAYS HE JUST WANTS TO KNOW HIS SON IS SAFE. HEARTBROKEN. I’M FEELING REALLY A LOT OF ANXIETY TO FIND HIM BECAUSE HE’S GOT TO BE SOMEWHERE, WHETHER IT’S FOR THE GOOD OR THE BAD. WE NEED TO KNOW. LET HIM COME HOME. LET HIM COME HOME AND LET US KNOW THAT HE’S SAFE. THIS AIN’T FAIR TO HIM. IT AIN’T FAIR TO THE PARENTS THAT DO LOVE AND CARE FOR THEIR KIDS. I MEAN, WHO WOULD WANT TO BE IN THIS PREDICAMENT? FRIDAY, THE OKLAHOMA STATE BUREAU OF INVESTIGATION SAID THEY’RE OFFERING A $5,000 REWARD FOR INFO THAT LEADS TO LOCATING RJ DAVIS. WELL, GUTHRIE HIGH SCHOOL BOYS BASKETBALL TEAM. THEY WERE ON A BUS WHEN IT CRASHED YESTERDAY. TROOPERS SAY FOUR VEHICLES WERE INVOLVED. THIS HAPPENED AROUND 145 FRIDAY AFTERNOON ON I-44 NEAR NORTHWEST 23RD AND SHIELDS. OFFICIALS SAY THEY WERE GOING TO A TOURNAMENT IN WEATHERFORD, GUTHRIE PUBLIC SCHOOLS SAYS NO ONE WAS INJURED. THE SUPERINTENDENT ALSO ADDED HE’S BEEN IN CONTACT WITH THE COACH, AND HE APPRECIATES HIS LEADERSHIP ALONG WITH THE REST OF THE STAFF TAKING CARE OF THE STUDENTS IN OKLAHOMA. MOTHER IS ASKING FOR DONATIONS TO SUPPORT HER KIDS AND LISTEN TO THIS. ALSO PAY FOR HER OWN FUNERAL. YEAH, SHE HAS WEEKS TO LIVE HERE. HER NAME IS KAITLYN GOFF. SHE’S 28 YEARS OLD, BATTLING METASTATIC BREAST CANCER. HER DOCTORS RECENTLY TOLD HER THE CANCER SPREAD TO HER BRAIN AND BONES. SHE’S A SINGLE MOTHER TO SOME KIDS, AND HER MOTHER SPOKE TO KOCO UP IN TULSA, SAYING THAT SHE IS HOPING THIS GOFUNDME PAYS FOR HER OWN FUNERAL. AND HER MOTHER SAYS IT EXEMPLIFIES HER STRENGTH TO PUSH FOR HER CHILDREN. YOU NEVER THINK YOU’LL END UP AT THIS SPOT, RIGHT? LIKE WHERE WE ARE. SHE NEVER THOUGHT SHE WOULD EITHER, YOU KNOW, WE THOUGHT WE’D BEAT IT. AND NOW WE’RE PLANNING A FUNERAL, SO. AND IT’S JUST HEARTBREAKING. VERY HEARTBREAKING THERE TO SUPPORT THIS FAMILY. YOU CAN ACTUALLY FIND THE LINK TO THE GOFUNDME. WE’RE GOING TO PUT THAT IN THE AS SEEN ON SECTION OF KOCO.COM. THE OKLAHOMA TURNPIKE AUTHORITY IS EXPANDING THE KILPATRICK TURNPIKE TO THREE LANES IN EACH DIRECTION BETWEEN WEST WILSHIRE BOULEVARD AND NORTHWEST 122ND. THIS IS GOING TO COST $23 MILLION, AND THE OTA IS EXCITED. HOWEVER, THERE ARE SOME SKEPTICS. CURRENTLY, THERE’S 40,000 VEHICLES TRAVELING ON THAT A DAY, AND WE’RE ESTIMATING THAT THERE’S GOING TO BE AROUND 90 90,000 VEHICLES PER DAY BY 2055. THEY CAN PROVE IT. MAKE THEM PROVE IT WITH TRAFFIC STUDIES THAT CAN BE VERIFIED. AND THAT CAN BE INDEPENDENTLY AUDITED.
