COLLEGE STATION, Texas (KBTX) – An Oklahoma men\u2019s basketball squad that entered Reed Arena Saturday hitting 34.6% of its shots seemed ready to make the Southeastern Conference matchup a 3-point shooting contest. <\/p>\n
However, as time wound down, Oklahoma\u2019s shots from distance began missing short. The Sooner\u2019s ultimately went 0 for its last 10 from behind the arc, aiding in Texas A&M\u2019s 83-76 victory and sending the Aggies to 3-0 in the conference slate. <\/p>\n
Oklahoma head coach Porter Moser attributed his team\u2019s late shooting woes to the grind Bucky McMillan\u2019s Aggies put on the Sooners with their full-court defense and physical play. <\/p>\n
\u201cWhen they\u2019re short, that is fatigue,\u201d Moser said of his team\u2019s shooting down the stretch. \u201cAnd I thought [A&M] played deeper. I thought their bench was deeper than ours, and I thought that just kind of wore out and played out.\u201d <\/p>\n
Oklahoma (11-5, 1-1) finished the game shooting 35% from 3-point range, ahead of A&M\u2019s 30%. However, the Aggies (13-3, 3-0) were able to force 17 Oklahoma turnovers, which led to 18 points. <\/p>\n

Beyond A&M\u2019s ability to push the pace of the game, forward Rashaun Agee and guard Ruben Dominguez have become a serious threat in the two-man game. <\/p>\n
Dominguez\u2019s lethal accuracy from behind the arc and quick release force the attention of the defense. On the flip side, Agee\u2019s strength in the post pushes defenses to make a choice. <\/p>\n
\u201cI thought they were physical, that\u2019s my takeaway,\u201d Moser said. \u201cAgee, I thought, was the difference in the game.\u201d<\/p>\n
The ending of the game was a perfect example. <\/p>\n
With three minutes to play, and A&M holding a five-point lead, McMillan said the team was looking to get Dominguez a shot to ice the game. They worked the ball inside to Agee, drawing a double team from the Oklahoma defense. After bringing the extra defender to help, Agee whipped a pass to Dominguez in the corner for an open 3-point look that hit. <\/p>\n
It was his fourth hit in nine tries from behind the arc and would ultimately be the game-winning score for A&M. <\/p>\n
However, the Aggies added insurance on the opposite side of the coin. With 30 seconds remaining, Oklahoma left Agee in single coverage in the post. The 6-foot-8, 231-pound post backed down his defender and worked a layup that put the Aggies back up by five. <\/p>\n
\u201cIf me and Ruben see something and we make eye contact, it\u2019s going to happen,\u201d Agee said. \u201cIt\u2019s just natural. I feel like, sometimes, playing with Ruben, I feel like I\u2019ve played with him before.\u201d <\/p>\n
Defensively, the Aggies held Oklahoma to a 4-for-21 clip from the field in the final 13 minutes of the game. <\/p>\n
\u201cEarly in the year, I thought that we weren\u2019t in the shape we needed to be in to persevere late in games, and I feel that you don\u2019t see weakness in our team late in the game,\u201d McMillan said of his team\u2019s performances as of late. <\/p>\n

Agee finished with a team-high 16 points and 12 rebounds, marking his seventh double-double of the season. <\/p>\n
Dominguez posted 14, along with Rylan Griffen. Griffen hit 3 of 6 from behind the arc. Guard Pop Isaacs finished with 13 and Marcus Hill had 10. <\/p>\n
Oklahoma\u2019s Nijel Pack went 6-for-13 from 3-point range for a game-high 24 points. The Sooners had three scorers with double-digit points. <\/p>\n
