The Texas Longhorns<\/a>\u2019 2026 offense is seemingly coming together.<\/p>\n

Just hours after landing Cam Coleman<\/a>, the No. 1 wide receiver in the transfer portal, Texas followed it up with a commitment from former North Carolina State running back Daylan \u201cHollywood\u201d Smothers, according to a report from On3\u2019s Hayes Fawcett<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Smothers, a first team All-ACC selection last season, had initially committed to Alabama earlier this week before flipping to Texas on Sunday.<\/p>\n

The redshirt sophomore tallied 939 rushing yards and seven total touchdowns, adding another 189 receiving yards for the Wolfpack in 2025. He had six games of 100 total yards or more last season, including rushing for 140 yards and two touchdowns in a big win over Virginia, an eventual ACC title game participant.<\/p>\n

The 5-11 running back is headed to his third school in four years after spending his first year at Oklahoma and then transferring to NC State for the past two seasons. He has two years of eligibility remaining.<\/p>\n

Smothers was the top-ranked running back and No. 18 overall player in ESPN\u2019s ranking of players<\/a> available in the transfer portal this offseason.<\/p>\n

Smothers\u2019 commitment represents another big get for a Longhorns offense rebuilding after a raft of transfer portal departures, including starting running back Quintrevion Wisner<\/a>. <\/p>\n
