Troopers said one horse was killed and three vehicles were damaged in a nighttime crash west of Sinton; no serious injuries were reported.<\/p>\n
Loose horses caused a multi-vehicle crash Monday evening on State Highway 188 just west of Sinton, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS).\u00a0<\/p>\n
DPS said one horse was killed, three vehicles were damaged, and one driver was transported to the hospital.\u00a0<\/p>\n
No serious injuries were reported.<\/p>\n
Troopers were notified of the crash at approximately 7:11 p.m. They said two horses had escaped and were on the roadway when a 2010 Nissan Rogue traveling east toward Sinton struck one of the animals.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The impact killed the horse and caused the driver of the Rogue to leave the roadway.<\/p>\n
A 2023 Chevrolet Traverse traveling behind the Rogue then ran over the deceased horse, resulting in damage to its undercarriage.<\/p>\n
Troopers reported that the second loose horse was later struck by a 2016 Lincoln Navigator, causing minor vehicle damage.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The two occupants of the Navigator were not injured, and the horse was secured back behind a fence.<\/p>\n
