Here\u2019s what Plano voters need to know before heading to the polls.<\/p>\n<p>Deputy Mayor Pro Tem Julie Holmer <a href=\"https:\/\/communityimpact.com\/dallas-fort-worth\/plano-south\/government\/2025\/11\/04\/plano-city-council-member-julie-holmer-resigns-to-pursue-county-seat\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">announced<\/a> her resignation from Plano City Council as she launched a campaign for Precinct 4 of the Collin County Commissioners Court, which represents most of Plano and Allen. The county seat will be up for election in 2026.<\/p>\n<p>Plano City Council members formally accepted Holmer\u2019s resignation at their Oct. 27 meeting.<\/p>\n<p>What\u2019s on the ballot<\/p>\n<p>Candidates Shun Thomas and Colleen Aguilar-Epstein are running for Plano City Council\u2019s Place 7 seat.<\/p>\n<p>Both candidates participated in a <a href=\"https:\/\/communityimpact.com\/dallas-fort-worth\/plano-south\/election\/2025\/12\/19\/qa-meet-the-candidates-running-for-plano-city-council-place-7\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Q&amp;A<\/a> with Community Impact after the filing period closed Dec. 1.<\/p>\n<p>What you need to know<\/p>\n<p>For the Jan. 31 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.plano.gov\/1896\/2026-Candidates\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">election<\/a>, there are several dates to know, including:<\/p>\n<p>Jan. 14: Early voting beginsJan. 20: Last day to apply for ballot by mailJan. 27: Early voting endsJan. 31: Election dayPolling locations for early voting and election day include:Carpenter Park Recreation Center, 6701 Coit Road, PlanoDavis Library, 7501 Independence Parkway, PlanoHaggard Library, 2501 Coit Road, PlanoHarrington Library, 1501 18th St., PlanoParr Library, 6200 Windhaven Parkway, PlanoTom Muehlenbeck Recreation Center, 5801 W.
