{"id":120725,"date":"2026-01-13T01:51:13","date_gmt":"2026-01-13T01:51:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/120725\/"},"modified":"2026-01-13T01:51:13","modified_gmt":"2026-01-13T01:51:13","slug":"humble-city-council-member-dies-after-serving-city-for-27-years","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/120725\/","title":{"rendered":"Humble City Council member dies after serving city for 27 years"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\tAfter serving on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cityofhumbletx.gov\/council-meetings\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Humble City Council<\/a> for almost three decades, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cityofhumbletx.gov\/city-council\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">council member<\/a> Charles &#8220;Andy&#8221; Curry died Dec. 15, Mayor Norman Funderburk announced during the <a href=\"https:\/\/d3n9y02raazwpg.cloudfront.net\/humble-tx\/4a92a12f-bb44-11f0-a7da-005056a89546-ebc5fcf5-5ee0-49f0-881b-bc93fbd4747c-1767129576.pdf\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Jan. 8 City Council meeting<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The big picture<\/p>\n<p>Curry had lived in Humble since 1952, serving in Place 1 on Humble City Council for about 27 years, Funderburk said Jan. 8.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe took great pride in being from Humble, and he loved being old Humble, and I love that about him,\u201d Funderburk said. \u201cServing on City Council, he was very proud of everything that was accomplished during his time &#8230; all of the progress that&#8217;s been made. He was heavily involved and his contributions were many.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Diving in deeper<\/p>\n<p>Funderburk said in addition to serving on City Council, Curry also:<\/p>\n<p>Curry was born in 1945 in Cleveland, Texas, according to his <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rosewood.cc\/obituaries\/Charles-Andrew-Curry?obId=46729413\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">online obituary<\/a>.
