London ISD students Chloe Delgado and Emily Baugh reflect on the excitement, preparation, and community support behind this year\u2019s Junior Livestock Show competition.<\/p>\n
CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas \u2014 A new queen<\/a> has been crowned to represent Nueces County following this year’s Junior Livestock Show.\u00a0<\/p>\n Chloe Delgado was named Queen, with Emma Baugh earning the title of runner-up after competing against 21 contestants.<\/p>\n Both students, who attend London ISD, described the crowning moment as unforgettable. Delgado said that taking the stage came with nerves, but also with excitement. “It was definitely nerve-wracking, but it was so fun and exciting,” Delgado said. “With all the girls, it was an experience that I’ll never forget, and I wouldn’t want to share it with anyone else.”<\/p>\n RELATED: Queen of Nueces County Junior Livestock Show contest returns to Tuloso Midway<\/a><\/p>\n Baugh echoed those sentiments, calling the night both hectic and rewarding. “It was very chaotic and crazy with a lot of preparation, but the night of was just magical,” she said. “A huge thank you to everybody who put it on.”<\/p>\n Looking ahead, both young women have big plans after graduation. Baugh plans to attend Dallas Baptist University and pursue a career as a singer-songwriter, crediting her family and community for their support of her passion for music. Delgado hopes to attend Texas Tech University and pursue a career in the medical field, driven by her desire to help others and make a difference.<\/p>\n As Queen and runner-up, Delgado and Baugh will spend the coming week representing the Junior Livestock Show at several events, including the Ag Mechanics and Homemaking Awards and the Blue Ribbon Sale on Saturday.\u00a0<\/p>\n Both say they are looking forward to meeting exhibitors and supporting the community throughout the weeklong celebration.<\/p>\n Delgado and Baugh encourage the community to come out on Wednesday, Jan 14, and support the Nueces County Junior Livestock ‘All Star Show,’ a livestock show open to youth with special needs.
