{"id":121442,"date":"2026-01-13T16:28:08","date_gmt":"2026-01-13T16:28:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/121442\/"},"modified":"2026-01-13T16:28:08","modified_gmt":"2026-01-13T16:28:08","slug":"texas-woman-charged-in-gym-attack-against-her-boyfriends-alleged-lover","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/121442\/","title":{"rendered":"Texas Woman Charged in Gym Attack Against Her Boyfriend&#8217;s Alleged Lover"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A visit to the gym for a workout nearly turned deadly this month in Texas, when a jilted woman grabbed a weighted plate and hurled it at another woman\u2019s head, Us Weekly has learned.<\/p>\n<p>Fortunately for Aralyn Alexis Martinez, the woman she targeted survived the alleged attack, or she\u2019d be looking at a possible murder charge \u2014 and a potential death sentence if found guilty.<\/p>\n<p>Police said that the near-fatal attack went down on Wednesday, January 7, inside the 24-Hour Fitness location in Spring, Texas, which is located just 24 miles north of Houston.<\/p>\n<p>Gym employees reportedly called police to report a physical altercation between two women. Aaron Webb was arrested in Fort Worth, Texas, on Tuesday, December 30. Police confirmed in a press release that he is currently being held in the [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<p>A statement from the Harris County Constable\u2019s Office said that the alleged gym incident began as a simple verbal confrontation. But before long, the two women were fighting, and \u201cthe suspect threw a weighted plate toward the complainant\u2019s head, attempting to cause injury.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>It was unclear how heavy the weighted plate actually was, and police did not distinguish if it was made of steel or cast iron. It was also unclear if the alleged victim was, in fact, struck with the weighted plate during the fight with Martinez, and Us Weekly\u2018s calls to investigators seeking additional information about the alleged attack were not returned.<\/p>\n<p>The suspect was detained and identified as Aralyn Martinez, who resides in the neighboring town of Humble. Police did not provide the arrested woman\u2019s age.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAralyn Martinez was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail, charged with Aggravated Assault,\u201d Constable Mark Herman said in a statement shared with Us Weekly. \u201cHer bond was set at $1,000.00 out of the 488th District Court.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-4221276\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/Feature-Texas-Woman-Charged-in-Weight-Wielding-Gym-Attack-Against-BF-Lover-Mugshot.jpg\" alt=\"Feature Texas Woman Charged in Weight-Wielding Gym Attack Against BF Lover Mugshot\" width=\"1000\" height=\"958\"  \/><br \/>\n Aralyn Alexis Martinez Harris County Constable Precinct 4<\/p>\n<p>The case remains under investigation, according to the statement. The charge against Martinez could be upgraded to aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, which, in Texas, goes well beyond knives and guns.
