East Texas author Colleen Hoover<\/a> underwent radiation therapy for cancer, she revealed Monday on Instagram. <\/p>\n

\u201cSecond to last day of radiation! I wish I could blame my hair and facial expressions on @texas.oncology,\u201d she wrote over a selfie posted to her story, adding the treatment center has been great. \u201cHope you never need them, but highly recommend them.\u201d <\/p>\n

The treatment update comes after Hoover reportedly<\/a> shared in December with her fans, the so-called \u201cCoHorts\u201d in a private Facebook group, that she had \u201crecurring health issues\u201d during the production of Reminders of Him, the upcoming movie adaptation of her 2022 namesake book. <\/p>\n

Hoover, who in recent years has lived in her hometown of Saltillo, about 90 miles east of Dallas, told the group she was diagnosed with cancer when she returned home from filming in Canada. <\/p>\n

In October, she did not attend the premiere for Regretting You, a film adaptation of another one of her books, citing an \u201cunavoidable surgery.\u201d It\u2019s unclear if the procedure was related to her cancer. <\/p>\n

In a recent<\/a> Facebook post, Hoover expanded on her diagnosis, writing it most likely stemmed from lifestyle factors, including \u201clack of exercise, poor diet and stress.\u201d <\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m happy and grateful to be alive but I hate vegetables. I hate when I have to get off the couch. I hate sweating,\u201d she wrote. \u201cIf you see me at the gym, don\u2019t even tell me good job. If you see me at a restaurant eating grilled chicken and drinking water, I\u2019m probably real mad about it.\u201d <\/p>\n

Hoover rose to fame around 2022 after her works became a hit on BookTok, a mighty corner of TikTok. Since then, several of her books have received the Hollywood treatment. She also released a thriller novel, Woman Down, on Tuesday. <\/p>\n
