An Austin, Texas, law firm has filed a more than $10 million lawsuit against several former clients to collect damages, alleging their \u201crefusal to pay earned and contractually owed attorneys\u2019 fees and expenses.\u201d<\/p>\n

Williams Simons & Landis is suing Riskon International, Ecoark, Zest Labs Holdings and Bartko Pavia. The suit was filed Jan. 7 in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Texas, Austin Division, according to coverage by Legal Newsline<\/a>.<\/p>\n

In the suit, Williams Simons & Landis alleges that it produced \u201cextraordinary\u201d results for its clients, and the defendants in the case undertook a \u201cconcerted course of conduct\u201d to evade payment upon benefiting from the firm\u2019s services.<\/p>\n

\u201cAt its core, this case is straightforward: Claimant-defendants obtained the benefit of WSL\u2019s work, realized substantial recoveries, and now refuse to pay what they owe,\u201d according to the suit.<\/p>\n
