Perot Systems founder Ross Perot will be honored with two eagle monuments at the Legacy Pedestrian Bridge over Dallas North Tollway.<\/p>\n

At the Plano City Council<\/a> regular meeting on Monday, council members voted to approve the construction of two monuments honoring EDS and Plano-based Perot<\/a> Systems founder Ross Perot and \u201chis lasting impact on Plano\u2019s business community and economic growth.\u201d<\/p>\n

According to a news release, the monuments started as a community-initiated request, supported by a city council member. After discussions with the City of Plano and the Perot family, the design and location were determined.<\/p>\n

There will be two \u201cobelisk-style\u201d monuments, one on each side of the Legacy Pedestrian Bridge over Dallas North Tollway. According to the release, the monuments will feature a stone exterior with bronze plaques and an eagle sculpture \u201csymbolizing Perot\u2019s life and values.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cRoss Perot<\/a> helped shape Plano into a city known for economic leadership and opportunity,\u201d said Mayor John Muns. \u201cHis vision, leadership, and belief in this community transformed a once rural area into a globally recognized center for business and innovation. These monuments ensure that his legacy and contributions will always be honored and remembered in Plano.\u201d<\/p>\n
