There were also some suspects wanted on outstanding homicide warrants, according to the authorities. <\/p>\n<p class=\"body-text-paragraph\">\u201cAnyone who has a felony warrant should be worried,\u201d Comeaux said. <\/p>\n<p class=\"body-text-paragraph\">Police Maj. Andre Taylor, who oversees the department\u2019s violent crime efforts, said in the citywide effort to reduce violent crime during the holiday period, the department worked with the fugitive unit and the marshals to find wanted individuals. <\/p>\n<p class=\"body-text-paragraph\">Taylor said as a result of the efforts, Dallas saw a 10% decrease in aggravated assaults, 50% fewer business robberies and 34% fewer individual robberies in the focus areas as compared to 2024. <\/p>\n<p class=\"body-text-paragraph\">He said the operation shows how \u201ctargeted proactive enforcement combined with partnership between city departments and our federal partners make Dallas safe.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" style=\"aspect-ratio:3500 \/ 2334\"   class=\"dmnc_images-modern-image-module__QFaG- max-w-full h-auto text-white dmnc_images-modern-image-module__9Zlll bg-gray-light object-contain\" width=\"3500\" height=\"2334\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/KVHSPBAYDRDL3KAVPEAZ4SCCMY.jpg\" alt=\"Dallas police Chief Daniel C. Sean Malecha, acting U.S. Marshal for the Northern District of Texas, from left, Assistant Chief Samuel Sarmiento and Chief of Public Safety Dominique Artis listen.<\/p>\n<p>Chitose Suzuki \/ Staff Photographer<\/p>\n<p class=\"body-text-paragraph\">\u201cWe\u2019re making a difference, and the statistics speak for themselves,\u201d said Sean Malecha, acting U.S. Marshal for the Northern District of Texas.<\/p>\n<p class=\"body-text-paragraph\">Malecha said his agency has partnered with Dallas police several times for different operations over the past 12 months. <\/p>\n<p class=\"body-text-paragraph\">The agencies have targeted fugitives with extensive histories, those who were wanted on sex-related warrants and on family and domestic violence warrants, Malecha said. <\/p>\n<p class=\"body-text-paragraph\">He said now the agencies are targeting the fugitives residing in high-crime areas in the city. <\/p>\n<p class=\"body-text-paragraph\">\u201cOnce a dangerous fugitive makes it on our radar, we do not stop until that individual is apprehended,\u201d Malecha said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"body-text-paragraph\">Yesterday, Dallas police said, violent crime <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dallasnews.com\/news\/public-safety\/2026\/01\/12\/police-dallas-ended-2025-with-fewer-homicides-fifth-straight-drop-in-violent-crime\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.dallasnews.com\/news\/public-safety\/2026\/01\/12\/police-dallas-ended-2025-with-fewer-homicides-fifth-straight-drop-in-violent-crime\/\">went down 12%<\/a> in 2025 compared to the year before.
