<\/p>\nEL PASO, Texas (KFOX14\/CBS4) \u2014 El Paso deputies arrested four people, two juveniles, in connection with the shooting in Socorro in late December. <\/p>\n
On Dec. 27, 2025, the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit took over an investigation after Socorro Police responded to multiple shots-fired calls at a residence in the 10100 block of Cyan Valley. <\/p>\n
The homeowner, 33-year-old Jose Avila, was taken to a hospital with a gunshot wound and later died from his injuries.<\/p>\n

The investigation revealed that four male suspects were involved in a disturbance with party attendees at the residence.<\/p>\n
As they left in a vehicle, multiple gunshots were fired toward the residence, hitting Avila. <\/p>\n
The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office, with help from the Texas Rangers, Socorro Police, and the Socorro Independent School District Police, identified the suspects. <\/p>\n
David Ramirez, 17, was charged with disorderly conduct for displaying a firearm, with a bond set at $10,000.<\/p>\n

Gael Quintana, 19, was charged with tampering with evidence, also with a $10,000 bond.<\/p>\n
Two juveniles, ages 16 and 15, were charged with murder and aggravated assault (mass shooting) and booked into the Juvenile Probation Department. <\/p>\n
