The Alzheimer\u2019s Football League<\/a> (AlzFL) is officially launching its 5th season right here in the Hub City, and Draft Day is shaping up to be equal parts football, inspiration, and West Texas heart.<\/p>\n

AlzFL Draft Day Is Coming to Lubbock<\/p>\n

Draft Day for the Alzheimer\u2019s Football League takes place Saturday, February 7th, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the TTUHSC Academic Event Center<\/a>, located at 3601 4th Street.<\/p>\n

This isn\u2019t your average draft event.<\/p>\n

AlzFL is an all-women\u2019s football league made up of Lubbock women who juggle real careers with a shared mission to fight Alzheimer\u2019s disease. We\u2019re talking nurses, physical therapists, teachers, realtors, lenders, and professionals from all walks of life–women who work full-time, train hard, and still find time to give back to their community.<\/p>\n

Football With a Purpose (And It Stays Local)<\/p>\n

What sets AlzFL apart is its laser focus on local impact. Every dollar raised by the league stays right here in Lubbock, benefiting:<\/p>\n

That means when you support AlzFL, you\u2019re supporting Alzheimer\u2019s research and resources that directly affect families in West Texas–not some distant organization hundreds of miles away.<\/p>\n

Community Leaders, Research, and Free Food<\/p>\n

Draft Day is being held in collaboration with the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center Garrison Institute on Aging, bringing together athletics, research, and community service under one roof.<\/p>\n

From 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., attendees will hear from a lineup of notable local voices, including Lubbock Mayor Mark McBrayer, Dr. Singer, Dr. Neugebauer, Rick Dykes, and other community leaders who are helping push Alzheimer\u2019s awareness forward.<\/p>\n

And yes–this is Lubbock, so food matters. Complimentary eats will be provided courtesy of BJ\u2019s Restaurant & Brewhouse, and attendees can also take exclusive tours of the Texas Tech Brain Bank, offering a behind-the-scenes look at the research happening right here in our backyard.<\/p>\n

Want to Play? They\u2019re Recruiting Now<\/p>\n

AlzFL is inviting women ages 21\u201370 who are interested in playing football while raising awareness and funds for Alzheimer\u2019s disease to attend Draft Day and sign up. No matter your background, if you\u2019ve got heart, grit, and a desire to make a difference, there\u2019s a spot for you.<\/p>\n
