{"id":123819,"date":"2026-01-15T04:09:21","date_gmt":"2026-01-15T04:09:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/123819\/"},"modified":"2026-01-15T04:09:21","modified_gmt":"2026-01-15T04:09:21","slug":"drainage-systems-in-league-city-along-fm-518-to-undergo-major-improvements","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/123819\/","title":{"rendered":"Drainage systems in League City along FM 518 to undergo major improvements"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\tDrainage systems in League City along FM 518 will undergo major <a href=\"https:\/\/communityimpact.com\/houston\/bay-area\/government\/2025\/11\/17\/fighting-the-floods-league-city-digs-in-on-drainage-projects-across-the-city\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">drainage <\/a>improvements as soon as January.<\/p>\n<p>The details<\/p>\n<p>League City City Council voted unanimously at its Jan. 13 meeting to award $3.2 million in contracts to improve the drainage system along FM 518 and South Wesley Drive.<\/p>\n<p>The contractor will begin work in January with a slated completion in July, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/leaguecity.legistar.com\/LegislationDetail.aspx?ID=7795194&amp;GUID=AE998F55-AE64-437B-BB5E-0691DFB178CB&amp;Options=&amp;Search=\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">city documents<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;&gt;<\/p>\n<p>The cost<\/p>\n<p>City officials awarded $2.8 million, plus a $284,000 work change order, to Houston-based construction company Environmental Allies for the work, as well as a $25,000 contract to engineering consultant Terracon Consultants, according to city documents.<\/p>\n<p>The funds for the project will be taken from Community Development Block Grant and the 2020 Proposition A <a href=\"https:\/\/leaguecitylistens.com\/westside-traffic-and-mobility\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Drainage<\/a> Bond Program, according to city documents.\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Drainage systems in League City along FM 518 will undergo major drainage improvements as soon as January.
