{"id":123914,"date":"2026-01-15T05:42:10","date_gmt":"2026-01-15T05:42:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/123914\/"},"modified":"2026-01-15T05:42:10","modified_gmt":"2026-01-15T05:42:10","slug":"dallas-fort-worth-group-to-build-huge-data-center-in-wichita-falls","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/123914\/","title":{"rendered":"Dallas-Fort Worth group to build huge data center in Wichita Falls"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">WICHITA FALLS (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.texomashomepage.com\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:KFDX\/KJTL;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">KFDX\/KJTL<\/a>) \u2014 A group out of Dallas-Fort Worth is eyeing to build a campus of data centers near Airport Road and Central Freeway.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The proposed development runs along 2100 and 2226 Airport Drive, adjacent to Spur 325.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">During the Wednesday, January 14, Planning and Zoning Commission meeting, Development Services Director Fabian Medellin told commissioners that the developer is looking to build nine buildings.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Each building will be two stories and each building will be about 150,000 square feet. Totaling about 1,350,000 square feet.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Medellin noted concerns about water usage but says the data center will be on a closed-loop system, using approximately 500,000 gallons of water.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">\u201cThese sites are selected based on their proximity to transmission lines or substation and opportunities for the owner and for a developer\u2019s team to come in and propose this specific use,\u201d Medellin said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Planning and zoning passed the proposed land changes for the developers.
