January 14, 2026 \u2013 El Paso County will close a segment of Beacon Lite Road beginning Tuesday, January 20 at 8:00 a.m. through Wednesday, January 21, at 4:00 p.m.<\/p>\n
Why the closure is needed:<\/p>\n
Crews are installing a Town of Monument water main connection, scheduled now due to the Beacon Lite Road project; this work is under a separate Town of Monument contract.<\/p>\n
Detour:<\/p>\n
Traffic will detour via Wakonda Way. Follow posted signs and refer to project detour map.<\/p>\n
What to expect during the closure:<\/p>\n
Full closure at the work zone with a signed detour
\nLocal access maintained for residents and businesses within the closure limits
\nTrucks and equipment entering and exiting the roadway
\nSchedule is weather-dependent<\/p>\n
