Beginning Monday, January 12, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.txdot.gov\/projects\/projects-studies\/san-antonio\/loop1604.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT);elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT)<\/a> will close the eastbound Loop 1604 exit ramp to O&#8217;Connor Road through April.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The closure, which is weather permitting, is needed to construct a new exit ramp and is part of Segment 5 of the long-term project, according to TxDOT.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">TxDOT is encouraging drivers to follow the detour signage. If you&#8217;re driving on Loop 1604 going east and want to go to O&#8217;Connor Road, you can&#8217;t take your normal turn. Instead, you will need to get off early at Bulverde Road, then take the frontage road until it reaches O&#8217;Connor Road.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">&#8220;At the completion of this closure, a new Eastbound Loop 1604 entrance ramp and a new Eastbound Loop 1604 exit ramp will open,&#8221; TxDOT says.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Also beginning Monday is a weeks-long closure impacting <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mysanantonio.com\/news\/local\/article\/Loop-1604-will-be-10-lanes-wide-and-TxDOT-wants-14456717.php\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:Loop 1604 at the I-10 interchange;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">Loop 1604 at the I-10 interchange<\/a>. The eastbound Loop 1604 to westbound Loop 1604 U-turn will be closed through January 26.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Detour signs will be posted to guide drivers.
