\t\t\t\t\t\t\tThe Austin area and its neighboring cities have seen two new eateries and are expected to welcome two more in the near future. Community members can try out the new spots which feature wood-fired sourdough pizzas, pancakes and breakfast tacos. This list is not comprehensive.<\/p>\n

Bahler Street now serving wood-fired sourdough pizzas near Georgetown, Round Rock border<\/a><\/p>\n

Bahler Street opened its brick-and-mortar location off Westinghouse Road in early November in conjunction with Barking Armadillo Social. The eatery’s menu features a number of wood-fired sourdough pizzas as well as make-your-own options, salad and wings.<\/p>\n

Caf\u00e9 Cortado brews again under new ownership in San Marcos<\/a><\/p>\n

Caf\u00e9 Cortado, a coffee truck featuring European-inspired menu items, opened to the public under new management on Dec. 10 when Lyndsay Lantz, a long-time customer of the coffee truck, took ownership of the business. The truck window closed for an extended break on Sept. 2, 2025, before the change in ownership and reopening in December.<\/p>\n

Caf\u00e9 Java now open to customers in the far Northwest Austin-Cedar Park area<\/a><\/p>\n

Caf\u00e9 Java opened its third Austin-area location Jan. 12 near the Austin-Cedar Park border, according to a representative from the location. This is the first new Caf\u00e9 Java location in 20 years, according to previous Community Impact reporting. Caf\u00e9 Java has a selection of coffees, teas and juices and a range of breakfast and lunch offerings including pancakes, breakfast tacos, soup and salads.<\/p>\n

The Buda Economic Development Corporation recently announced the upcoming opening of Astra Restaurant & Bar. The restaurant will bring a diverse menu built with locally sourced, seasonal ingredients. The restaurant will offer a variety of menu items, including artisan sandwiches, sourdough pizza, handmade pastas, seasonal vegetable dishes, burgers, craft cocktails and house-made soft-serve waffle cones.<\/p>\n

The eatery offers dine-in and takeout options with choices such as noodles, dim sum with various meat options, soup and more. The company operates additional locations in Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, New Jersey, New York, Maryland, Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Virginia.<\/p>\n

Dining spotlight<\/p>\n

Winston’s serves wood-fired pizza and more in Spicewood, Bee Cave<\/a><\/p>\n

When Aaron Creamer and his family relocated from England to the Austin area, they saw an opportunity in a dining scene that didn\u2019t quite meet their needs. This inspired Aaron and wife Sally to open Winston\u2019s, a neighborhood restaurant that now offers a family-friendly dining experience at two locations.<\/p>\n

A family affair<\/p>\n

Winston\u2019s was first established just outside of Lakeway in August 2023, which Creamer says is more of a \u201cdestination spot.\u201d In December, the family expanded to a second location in Bee Cave, offering easier walkability and access to the Hill Country Galleria.<\/p>\n

Winston\u2019s standout menu item is its wood-fire Neapolitan-style pizza made with imported Italian 00 flour, San Marzano tomatoes and dough made fresh daily. Flavors include a classic margherita, prosciutto and arugula, or truffle with mozzarella and parmesan.<\/p>\n
