[Photo: GEICO]<\/p>\n<p>GEICO cut the ribbon on its second North Texas building in Richardson Thursday, then said wait, there\u2019s more:\u00a0 the insurance giant has also signed a lease for a third building while striking a new sponsorship deal with the Dallas Cowboys.<\/p>\n<p>As a result of its growth plans for the region, GEICO said it\u2019s in the process of adding 2,500 jobs since it first began its North Texas expansion <a href=\"https:\/\/dallasinnovates.com\/geico-to-open-2nd-office-building-in-richardson-adding-1000%e2%80%91plus-new-jobs\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">over the last year<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Today\u2019s ribbon-cutting was held at GEICO\u2019s new 165,000-square-foot building in Mapletree\u2019s Galatyn Commons office complex. The company said it has signed a lease for a third building next door, and plans to add an additional 1,000 employees across its three buildings in Richardson over the next two years.<\/p>\n<p>Since December 2024, GEICO has announced 2,500 new jobs in North Texas supporting GEICO\u2019s sales, service and claims operations.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-283706\" class=\"img-responsive\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/GEICO-ribbon-cutting-at-second-building-in-Richardson-Photo-GEICO.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"934\" height=\"554\"\/><\/p>\n<p id=\"caption-attachment-283706\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">GEICO\u2019s ribbon cutting ceremony at its second building in Richardson. [Photo: GEICO]<\/p>\n<p>Signing on with America\u2019s Team<\/p>\n<p>To bolster its presence in the region, GEICO has added a big star to its portfolio by signing a multi-year sponsorship agreement with the Dallas Cowboys. The sponsorship includes in-stadium signage, digital media integration, and community engagement opportunities throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth area, GEICO said. The company said it will work with the Cowboys \u201cto create meaningful initiatives that drive positive change and leave a lasting impact across the region.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen we began expanding here just over a year ago, we knew North Texas had something special to offer,\u201d GEICO\u2019s Richardson Campus Leader and Head of Commercial Insurance Operations Jason Andrukonis said in a statement. \u201cWhat we have found has surpassed even our highest expectations\u2014exceptional talent, a welcoming business community, and a region that shares our drive to grow.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cToday, with a third building in Richardson, we are putting down roots for the long haul and our partnership with the Dallas Cowboys is a reflection of that commitment,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>Mayor lauds expansion<\/p>\n<p>Richardson Mayor Amir Omar called GEICO\u2019s continued expansion \u201ca strong vote of confidence in our city, our workforce, and our business environment.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re proud that Richardson is home to a company investing at this scale and helping shape the future of North Texas\u2019 economy,\u201d the mayor added.<\/p>\n<p>Founded in Fort Worth in 1936<\/p>\n<p>GEICO\u2019s roots in North Texas go back 90 years, to when the company was first founded in Fort Worth in 1936.<\/p>\n<p>The company\u2019s Dallas regional office first opened in June 1986 to support GEICO\u2019s Southwest and Midwest expansions. The company moved to its current Richardson location on Greenville Avenue\u2014a 232,000-square-foot building\u2014in 2016.<\/p>\n<p>GEICO\u2019s new Galatyn Commons lease\u2014in building D of the complex\u2014will give the company nearly 600,000 square feet across all three Richardson buildings.<\/p>\n<p>Don\u2019t miss what\u2019s next.
