\u201cIt\u2019s very much an undeveloped section of Georgetown,\u201d Ryan Clark, long range and neighborhood planning manager for the city, said at the meeting.<\/p>\n
The details<\/p>\n
The project is designed as a walkable community, with retail along the highway frontage and residential behind it, according to city documents. The development plan includes:<\/p>\n
Up to 425 residential units with a minimum of three housing typesAt least 10 acres of commercial spaceA 10-foot concrete regional trail that connects with Dry Berry CreekOpen space on one-third of the siteAmenities, such as playgrounds and dog parksThe planning and design work for the project is being handled by architecture firm SEC Planning.<\/p>\n
Digging deeper<\/p>\n
Proposed housing types for this development include a mix of single-family homes, townhomes and several multifamily options, including \u201ccottage courts,\u201d which are centered around a courtyard area, according to city documents.<\/p>\n
At least 40% of the residential units on the site must be single-family homes or individual townhome lots, according to city documents.<\/p>\n
The development will also utilize alleys rather than driveways, have trees along the streets at 40-foot intervals, and some homes will have frontage onto open space rather than public streets.<\/p>\n
\u201c[This is] different from a lot of what we\u2019ve seen in Georgetown before,\u201d Clark said.<\/p>\n
What\u2019s next<\/p>\n
