Chief Justice John Roberts of the United States Supreme Court is set to speak about the state of the American judiciary at Houston\u2019s Rice University in March, university officials announced Wednesday.<\/p>\n
Roberts, who has led the Supreme Court since 2005, will speak on the Rice campus at 11 a.m. March 17. The event is free and open to the public, though advance registration is required and the event has a limited number of tickets.<\/p>\n
Roberts will speak along with Judge Lee H. Rosenthal, senior judge of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas. The event will be held by the Baker Institute for Public Policy at Rice.<\/p>\n

In 2012<\/a>, Roberts spoke with then-Rice President David Leebron.<\/p>\n Roberts was nominated to serve as chief justice by then-President George W. Bush in 2005. An event description says Roberts will “reflect on his experience as Chief Justice, the state of the American judicial branch, and some of the most significant moments in his tenure.”<\/p>\n
