North Texans who have been dreaming of a winter wonderland finally have reason to hope (at least a little).<\/p>\n

The National Weather Service\u2019s Fort Worth office is forecasting a slight chance of snow flurries<\/a> Saturday for the northern half of the region. Daytime temperatures are expected to be in the upper 30s and 40s, so any snowflakes that form are expected to melt when they hit the ground. But snow-hopeful North Texans may still want to keep their eyes to the sky.<\/p>\n

Precipitation chances are still low, with a 5% hourly chance between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. at DFW International Airport.<\/a> The chance of sprinkles and flurries extends down into the northern portion of Dallas and Tarrant counties, but possibilities appear higher for counties further north, including those along the Red River border with Oklahoma.<\/p>\n

While this brush with winter precipitation is expected to be slight, more chances could be on the horizon. The Climate Prediction Center is forecasting near-normal temperatures for North Texas through the end of January, with above-average chances of precipitation.<\/p>\n
