Hey, it\u2019s\u00a0Grizz from 93.1 KISS FM, and on\u00a0Saturday, January 31, I am doing something wildly uncomfortable for a very good reason. I am taking the\u00a0Polar Plunge\u00a0to raise money for\u00a0Special Olympics Texas \u2013 El Paso.<\/p>\n
But this is not just a jump into freezing water.<\/p>\n
This time,\u00a0you get to decide how I plunge.<\/p>\n
You Control the Chaos<\/p>\n
Every dollar you donate puts the power directly in your hands. Your support will determine:<\/p>\n
What I wear\u00a0when I hit the water<\/p>\n
How I dive\u00a0cannonball, belly flop, jackknife, you name it<\/p>\n
And if we raise enough money, whether my co-host\u00a0Iris Lopez\u00a0gets \u201cencouraged\u201d to plunge with me<\/p>\n

The First Goal Is $500<\/p>\n
Once we hit\u00a0$500, I will drop a\u00a0poll on our socials\u00a0with all the possible costume options. Whatever you vote for is what I will wear when I plunge. No backing out. No negotiations.<\/p>\n
Every additional fundraising milestone unlocks more chaos, more fun, and more impact for an organization that truly matters.<\/p>\n
Why This Matters to Me<\/p>\n
I have supported this community my entire adult life, literally since graduating high school. I have worked alongside kids and adults with different kinds of disabilities, and that experience shaped who I am.<\/p>\n
Organizations like\u00a0Special Olympics\u00a0do not just offer sports or events. They offer\u00a0belonging, confidence, and hope. They show people that there is a full life beyond whatever label the world tries to give them.<\/p>\n
That is why this matters. That is why I am freezing for this.<\/p>\n

The\u00a02026 Polar Plunge\u00a0takes place at\u00a0Camp Cohen Water Park\u00a0and brings together community members, businesses, first responders, and supporters from across the region.<\/p>\n

All funds raised go directly to\u00a0Special Olympics Texas \u2013 El Paso, supporting year-round training, competitions, and programs for athletes with intellectual disabilities right here in our community.<\/p>\n
This is one of the organization\u2019s biggest fundraisers of the year, and it directly impacts thousands of athletes.<\/p>\n
