{"id":126656,"date":"2026-01-17T03:07:13","date_gmt":"2026-01-17T03:07:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/126656\/"},"modified":"2026-01-17T03:07:13","modified_gmt":"2026-01-17T03:07:13","slug":"texas-disposal-systems-to-close-eco-depot-transfer-station-in-bee-cave","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/126656\/","title":{"rendered":"Texas Disposal Systems to close Eco Depot, transfer station in Bee Cave"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\tThe final day of operation for the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.texasdisposal.com\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Texas Disposal Systems<\/a> Bee Cave Transfer Station and Eco Depot is Feb. 14, according to a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.texasdisposal.com\/news\/texas-disposal-systems-celebrates-48-years-of-service-at-eco-depot-in-bee-cave\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">news release<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The details <\/p>\n<p>Located at 4001 RM 620, Bee Cave, TDS provides waste management services to the city through a collaboration with <a href=\"https:\/\/countyclerk.traviscountytx.gov\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Travis County<\/a>, while Eco Depot serves as an outlet for products from Garden-Ville. Travis County opened Eco Depot in 1975 and operated the transfer station until contracting with TDS in 1997, according to the news release.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFor nearly five decades, Eco Depot has stood as a testament to TDS\u2019 dedication to public service and environmental stewardship, and Travis County is proud to have partnered with them throughout this remarkable run,\u201d said Brigid Shea, Travis County Precinct 2 Commissioner, in the news release.<\/p>\n<p>Despite the closure, Travis County is still committed to providing services to Bee Cave through its TDS partnership, according to the news release.<\/p>\n<p>The next closest stations are located in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.texasdisposal.com\/contact\/austin-landfill\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Creedmoor<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.texasdisposal.com\/contact\/georgetown\/?utm_source=google&amp;utm_medium=Yext&amp;y_source=1_MTU4NzIwNjYtNzE1LWxvY2F0aW9uLndlYnNpdGU%3D\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Georgetown<\/a>, about 40 minutes southeast and 53 minutes northeast of the current location, respectively.<\/p>\n<p>What\u2019s next? <\/p>\n<p>A promotion will be held at Eco Depot through the closing of the facility.
