FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. \u2013\u00a0The UT Arlington track and field team started the indoor season on a high with three first place and two third place finishes. Leo LeGrand<\/a> and Ardo Cserni<\/a> earned third-place medals in 800m (1:51.39) and the pole vault (4.60m), respectively.<\/p>\n THOUGHTS FROM COACH #BuckEm<\/p>\n FOLLOW ALONG \u00a0<\/p>\n

\nEmilia Mandl<\/a> won the women’s 800m race with a time of 2:09.23, while Daniel Armstrong<\/a> won the men’s 800, clocking a time of 1:49.72. Ethan Saenz<\/a> also brought in a first-place finish in the men’s pole vault, with a mark of 4.85m.<\/p>\n
\n“We had a solid opening meet on both sides. Emilia Mandal highlighted the women’s performances with a big PR and win in the 800, while others gained valuable early-season experience,” said Coach Sauerhauge, “On the men’s side, Daniel Armstrong<\/a> posted a massive PR to win the 800, and Eli England<\/a> was a true workhorse across multiple events. Our throwers showed real promise, led by Logan Villalva’s<\/a> outstanding season opener and a strong group performance. Depsite a few injuries, this meet showed our potential, and we’ll get back to work on Monday!”
