{"id":127603,"date":"2026-01-18T02:24:10","date_gmt":"2026-01-18T02:24:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/127603\/"},"modified":"2026-01-18T02:24:10","modified_gmt":"2026-01-18T02:24:10","slug":"houston-weather-freezing-temps-overnight","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/127603\/","title":{"rendered":"Houston weather: Freezing temps overnight"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/kksh1gqzxc0ggdrh.jpg\" alt=\"Houston weather: Jan. 17 evening forecast\" class=\"sr-only\" data-v-4292be72=\"\"\/>    <\/p>\n<p data-v-6c8e215c=\"\">HOUSTON &#8211; Sunday morning will bring the coldest temperatures that we will feel for the next week.<\/p>\n<p>   Freezing temps Sunday morning <\/p>\n<p data-v-6c8e215c=\"\">Temperatures are expected to drop to or below freezing across the majority of the FOX 26 area, except for the inner Houston metro, barrier islands, and a few areas right along the coast.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p data-v-6c8e215c=\"\">For some of our coastal counties, it will be their first freeze of the winter, so <a href=\"https:\/\/www.weather.gov\/hgx\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">the National Weather Service has issued a Freeze Warning<\/a> there. Parts of our far northern areas, mainly Madison and Houston Counties, may drop as cold as the lower 20s, but only for around an hour or less.<\/p>\n<p>  Cold weather preparations <\/p>\n<p data-v-6c8e215c=\"\">As high pressure settles in tonight, allowing winds to calm under clear skies, temperatures will drop quickly.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p data-v-6c8e215c=\"\">Overnight temperatures, particularly north and west of Houston, will drop below freezing.\u00a0Remember the 4 P&#8217;s- people, pets, plants and pipes.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p> <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/761f4793-day1_low_720.jpg\" alt=\"\" data-v-0dea8073=\"\"\/>  MLK Day <\/p>\n<p data-v-6c8e215c=\"\">Monday will start on a chilly note. An extra layer will be a good idea if you are heading out to the MLK Unity Parade.
