LUBBOCK, TEXAS \u2013 NM State made its 2026 debut at the Corky Classic, hosted by Texas Tech. At the two-day meet in Lubbock, a multitude of Aggies made their indoor track & field debut, while a strong group of returners led the way over the weekend.

\nFRIDAY
\n\u00a0
\nMost recently competing in the discus at the NCAA Outdoor West Regional in late May, senior Alesha Lane<\/a> began the indoor season in the weight throw, tossing a new personal best mark of 19.25 meters (63-2″) on her first attempt. This would advance Lane to the finals, where she finished third overall. Her personal best also ranks third in program history, behind Phethisang Makhethe (20.61m, 2023) and Yemisi Oroyinyin (20.16m, 2019).

\nKamryn Cadle<\/a> took seventh overall with a new personal best of 16.56m in the event, while Julia Nystrand<\/a> and Avery Jordan<\/a> made their NM State and event debuts.

\nMarlee Cavitt<\/a> advanced to the 60m semifinals after posting an opening time of 7.52. This represented an NM State best for the senior sprinter, who posted a time of 7.58 in the semifinal round. Alyssa Crump<\/a> made her Aggie debut in the event.

\nAdela St\u00e9insov\u00e1 made her Crimson & White debut in the 800m, tallying a new altitude-adjusted personal best time of 2:15.29, finishing eighth overall. Angela Korte<\/a> crossed the line with a time of 2:16.57@, capturing first place in her heat and 12th overall. Elo\u00efse Stuart made her indoor 800m debut, finishing with a time of 2:20.25@.

\nFreshmen Kennedy Taylor<\/a> (41.93) and Julissa Daniels<\/a> (42.94) made their season debuts in the 300m, both competing in the event for the first time at NM State.

\nJoining the Aggies during outdoor competition, Sara McKee<\/a> competed in the 60m hurdles for the first time at NM State, finishing with a time of 9.04.
\n\u00a0
\nTransferring in from UTGV, junior Aja Johnson<\/a> was the lone NM State entrant in the long jump, posting a mark of 5.32m.

\nSATURDAY
\n\u00a0
\nSeven Aggies competed in the 200m, with sophomore Jaylah McDonnell<\/a> leading the way after posting a time of 24.90 to win her heat. Julissa Daniels<\/a> posted a personal best time of 26.38, while Alyssa Crump<\/a>, Kennedy Taylor<\/a> and Sara McKee<\/a> debuted in the event.

\nMarlene Mosqueda<\/a> (2:56.81) and Angela Korte<\/a> (3:03.47) set a new personal best in the 1000m, with Mosqueda taking second in her heat.

\nNow competing in the mile run, Adela St\u00e9insov\u00e1 once again paced the Aggies after finishing 11th overall with an altitude-adjusted time of 4:57.80. Ainsleigh Kasprick<\/a> and Elo\u00efse Stuart made their debuts in the event.

\nJordan Torres<\/a> led the Aggies in the 3000m on Saturday, notching a time of 10:20.07@. Brooke Kelly<\/a> and Ainsleigh Kasprick<\/a> debuted in the event, while Trista Cordova<\/a> (10:41.68) and Murrie Dodge<\/a> (10:45.03) tallied personal bests.

\nKamryn Cadle<\/a> led NM State in the shot put, recording a mark of 13.88m. Julia Nystrand<\/a> and Avery Jordan<\/a> competed in the event for the first time.

\nA trio of NM State 4×400 teams closed the weekend in West Texas, with a mix of sprinters and mid-distance runners. The quartet of Jaylah McDonnell<\/a>, Marlee Cavitt<\/a>, Alyssa Crump<\/a> and Marlene Mosqueda<\/a> tallied the top time among Aggies (3:56.62).

\nNM State returns to action next week, staying in the Land of Enchantment to compete at the MLK Invitational, held Jan. 23-24 at the Albuquerque Convention Center, hosted by the University of New Mexico.
