{"id":130184,"date":"2026-01-20T09:48:22","date_gmt":"2026-01-20T09:48:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/130184\/"},"modified":"2026-01-20T09:48:22","modified_gmt":"2026-01-20T09:48:22","slug":"dallas-market-center-offers-mens-womens-kids-gifts-at-trade-shows","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/130184\/","title":{"rendered":"Dallas Market Center Offers Men&#8217;s, Women&#8217;s, Kids, Gifts at Trade Shows"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tOne-stop shopping.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tThat\u2019s the differentiator of the <a href=\"https:\/\/wwd.com\/tag\/dallas-market-center\/\" id=\"auto-tag_dallas-market-center\" data-tag=\"dallas-market-center\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Dallas Market Center<\/a>, which showcases everything from gifts, home and lighting products to men\u2019s and women\u2019s apparel, accessories, footwear and kidswear \u2014 as well as a hefty dose of Western and English products.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tWith more and more retailers seeking to increase the variety of products on their selling floors, the opportunity to add something out of the ordinary has proven a successful strategy for the stores and the DMC, which has grown to become the largest apparel and accessories marketplace in the U.S.<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"c-lazy-image__img lrv-u-background-color-grey-lightest lrv-u-width-100p lrv-u-display-block lrv-u-height-auto\" src=\"https:\/\/wwd.com\/wp-content\/themes\/vip\/pmc-wwd-2021\/assets\/public\/lazyload-fallback.gif\" data-lazy-src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/12873A-585_bf3f31.jpg\" alt=\"Dallas has become the country's largest apparel and accessories market.\" data-lazy- data-lazy- height=\"683\" width=\"1024\" decoding=\"async\"\/><\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t\tDallas has become the country\u2019s largest apparel and accessories market.<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tRobert Wilson<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\t\u201cWe all talk about lifestyle and some people say it\u2019s an overused term, but so many apparel stores are buying gifts now and gift stores are buying apparel,\u201d said Cindy Morris, president and chief executive officer of the <a href=\"https:\/\/wwd.com\/footwear-news\/shoe-industry-news\/dallas-apparel-accessories-market-october-2025-details-1238301010\/\" id=\"related_article_link_dallas-market-center\" data-tag=\"dallas-market-center\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Dallas Market Center<\/a>. \u201cThey identify their customer and what that customer wants, whether it be a great candle or a personal care product.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tSo a merchant can just stroll the floors of the 5 million-square-foot campus at the World Trade Center with its 800-plus permanent showrooms and hundreds of temporary exhibits at any time, or during one of the Dallas Market Center\u2019s five rounds of scheduled annual shows to search out product to fit those needs.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tThis month, the DMC will kick off its fashion week on Tuesday with the Dallas Apparel &amp; Accessories women\u2019s show and Kidsworld, followed the next day by the Western\/English Apparel and Equipment Market and American Equestrian Trade Association. The week wraps up with the Dallas Men\u2019s Show, which opens with a preview on Friday and runs through Monday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tWith the <a data-id=\"1236620710\" data-type=\"post\" href=\"https:\/\/wwd.com\/fashion-news\/sportswear\/wrangler-lainey-wilson-signature-collection-bell-bottoms-1236620710\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Western trend<\/a> so strong and brands in a variety of categories including golf and outdoor among the offerings, retailers attending the shows will have the opportunity to browse a number of categories. Among the additions this time are Cotton &amp; Rye Outfitters, Rodeo Hippie and Thread &amp; Supply in the women\u2019s contemporary and Western areas, while Young Robot Sales will be bringing Smith eyewear, Brixton hats and apparel and Blenders eyewear to the men\u2019s market for the first time, and Roostas &amp; Bluecrest will debut its collegiate-licensed apparel.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tAlthough the shows have been held for decades, everything changed during the pandemic, Morris said. \u201cDuring COVID, we picked up a fair amount of market share,\u201d she said. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tBecause the state of Texas was only closed for six weeks, the DMC was able to reopen quickly to service the needs of retailers seeking to fill their shelves. \u201cDuring the pandemic, retailers had to rethink where they\u2019d buy product,\u201d she said, singling out a store from Seattle that had historically shopped on the West Coast but shifted to Dallas because of its breadth of offerings.<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"c-lazy-image__img lrv-u-background-color-grey-lightest lrv-u-width-100p lrv-u-display-block lrv-u-height-auto\" src=\"https:\/\/wwd.com\/wp-content\/themes\/vip\/pmc-wwd-2021\/assets\/public\/lazyload-fallback.gif\" data-lazy-src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/12873A-282.jpg\" alt=\"Men's show at Dallas Market Center\" data-lazy- data-lazy- height=\"683\" width=\"1024\" decoding=\"async\"\/><\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t\tMen\u2019s has become a popular draw for the Dallas Market Center.<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tRobert Wilson<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\t\u201cOur men\u2019s show quadrupled in size and our business got way stronger,\u201d she said, \u201cparticularly on the apparel side.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tOnce the rest of the country opened up, Dallas was able to retain \u2014 and expand \u2014 its reach, transforming from a regional show into one that attracts stores from around the U.S. as well as internationally.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tHelping to boost business was a deal the DMC made with WESA to relocate its popular Western and English show from Denver to Dallas beginning in 2021. That show had been in Denver for a century, \u201cbut, being Texans, we always felt the Western industry belonged in Texas,\u201d Morris said. That same year, the AETA show also relocated from King of Prussia, Pa.<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"c-lazy-image__img lrv-u-background-color-grey-lightest lrv-u-width-100p lrv-u-display-block lrv-u-height-auto\" src=\"https:\/\/wwd.com\/wp-content\/themes\/vip\/pmc-wwd-2021\/assets\/public\/lazyload-fallback.gif\" data-lazy-src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/12876B-565.jpg\" alt=\"Westernwear at Dallas Market Center\" data-lazy- data-lazy- height=\"1024\" width=\"683\" decoding=\"async\"\/><\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t\tWestern wear is a cornerstone of the Dallas market.<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tRC_WILSON<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\t\u201cIt brought a whole new category of retailers to us,\u201d Morris said, adding that it also benefited the exhibitors and retailers, who experienced improved business. \u201cIt\u2019s been absolutely phenomenal for them and us. It\u2019s a huge win-win.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tIn June, the Select Independent Formalwear Association will hold its annual conference at the DMC during the women\u2019s market. \u201cWe\u2019re always looking for the next trend,\u201d Morris said with a laugh.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tBut first up is the January market, where the DMC will highlight its 150 women\u2019s, 120 Western and English, 26 men\u2019s and 64 permanent kids\u2019 showrooms along with 450 temporary women\u2019s apparel and accessories exhibitors, 220 equestrian, more than 350 Western, 140 men\u2019s and 35 kids\u2019 in its Market Hall. In addition to merchandise for the summer season, the show will offer a cash and carry section for immediates.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\t\u201cIt used to be that the market was March and October,\u201d she said, \u201cbut the cycle has changed so dramatically, and retailers are buying closer to need.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\t<a href=\"https:\/\/wwd.com\/business-news\/retail\/dillards-earnings-sales-third-quarter-1238347046\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Dillard\u2019s <\/a>has a permanent office at the DMC and the shows are expected to attract other large stores like The Buckle, Von Maur, Hemline and Dry Goods and others, Morris said, along with thousands of independent specialty stores and some international retailers. Morris added that stores from Mexico, Central America, South America and Australia are expected to attend since stores in these regions are particularly interested in Western wear.<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"c-lazy-image__img lrv-u-background-color-grey-lightest lrv-u-width-100p lrv-u-display-block lrv-u-height-auto\" src=\"https:\/\/wwd.com\/wp-content\/themes\/vip\/pmc-wwd-2021\/assets\/public\/lazyload-fallback.gif\" data-lazy-src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/12876A-1140.jpg\" alt=\"Womenswear at the Dallas Market Center\" data-lazy- data-lazy- height=\"683\" width=\"1024\" decoding=\"async\"\/><\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t\tWomen\u2019s contemporary fashion will be showcased beginning Jan. 20.<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tRobert Wilson<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tAll stores attending the market will be invited to two fashion shows: one for women\u2019s contemporary merchandise and another for Western and English fashions on Jan. 20 and 21, respectively. Morris said these shows are not pay-to-play, but are \u201ceditorial,\u201d and created by the DMC team to highlight the trends of the season.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tThere are also a slew of events throughout the week including hat shaping, boot shines, the introduction of influencer John Mark\u2019s ribbon line, cocktail parties and tailgates. But beyond the parties and festivities, the primary purpose of attending the January market is business. And Morris expects spirits to be high among attendees.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\t\u201cAll indicators are really strong,\u201d she said. \u201cIn talking to retailers, they had a great Christmas. Last January was challenging with the tariffs and the pricing of goods, but everybody got the goods, they priced them and they flew off the shelves.
