It\u2019s pretty far from ideal the way that the Texas Tech Lady Raiders lost to one of the least impressive teams in the Big 12 up to this point. On Saturday, the unbeaten Texas Tech women\u2019s basketball team lost at home by six points to a Kansas State Wildcats team that was previously just sitting at .500 on the season.\u00a0<\/p>\n
And there are a number of reasons for that.<\/p>\n
Texas Tech seemingly was unable to get a rebound (and was outrebounded by a margin of 46-20), the Lady Raiders struggled in second-chance points (Kansas State had a 14-3 advantage here), and the Wildcats managed to double up on Texas Tech in points in the paint (28 to 14 in K-State\u2019s favor).<\/p>\n
That\u2019s all not great! And it impacted the Big 12 standings in some rather intriguing ways.<\/p>\n

It really looks like the top end of the Big 12 women\u2019s basketball championship race is going to be a fascinating one to keep up with. The fact of the matter is, Texas Tech, TCU, Baylor, Utah, Arizona State, Oklahoma State, and West Virginia are all in really solid spots overall to be able to make a run for the conference crown.<\/p>\n
And it\u2019d be nice if Texas Tech would find a way to pull away from the rest of the Big 12. I\u2019m not sure that\u2019s going to happen after the Lady Raiders\u2019 loss to Kansas State.
