The extension was approved 6-1, with Place 4 Council Member Tag Green voting against the extension at a regular meeting Jan. 6.<\/p>\n

A development lot along Keller Parkway is proposed to become the new building for Frost Bank in Keller, according to city documents<\/a>.<\/p>\n The 7,000-square-foot bank will have four stacking spaces per drive-thru lane, which was approved unanimously by council.<\/p>\n The new Frost Bank spot will be a relocation for the Frost Bank currently located across the street from The Shops at Keller Marketplace, according to city documents. A Frost Bank representative at the meeting said constructing a new location made more sense than renovating its current location.<\/p>\n What they’re saying<\/p>\n The location for the bank was originally planned to have space for a restaurant alongside it, according to city documents.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m not able to be supportive of extending an SUP that I don\u2019t think follows the spirit of what we approved the first time,\u201d Green said.<\/p>\n Place 6 Council Member Karen Brennan said the change was not significant enough for her to oppose the plan.<\/p>\n \u201cWe\u2019ve gone from a bank and three restaurants to a bank and two restaurants. I do not see that as a gross change in usage,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n Council approved the site plan amendment for the bank with an added clarification that an 8-foot wall will be constructed between the bank and nearby residences.<\/p>\n The background<\/p>\n A city SUP is valid for 1 year and expires if an applicant cannot successfully get a building permit, said Sarah Hensley, the city\u2019s director of community development.
