A Texas man who decapitated his wife<\/a> just four months after their impromptu wedding was found dead in his prison cell on Friday.<\/p>\n

Jared James Dicus, 24, pleaded guilty to the barbaric murder of his wife, 21-year-old Anggy Diaz, in an open-and-shut trial in 2024.<\/p>\n

Dicus was sentenced to four decades in prison<\/a>, and his earliest parole date was set for 2043. <\/p>\n

On Friday, he was found hanging in his single-person cell at the Wainwright Unit in Houston County, according to a state death report obtained by KLTV<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Prison staff attempted life-saving efforts when they came across Dicus\u2019 body, but he was pronounced dead by responding EMS staff just before 11 p.m., according to the report.<\/p>\n

Diaz and Dicus wed in October 2022, much to the revulsion of their closest friends who disapproved of their rocky relationship<\/a>. <\/p>\n

Diaz\u2019s mutilated corpse \u2014 including her severed head that was ditched in the shower with a knife<\/a> \u2014 was found in the couple\u2019s Houston-area home on Jan. 11, 2023.<\/p>\n

Dicus\u2019 father, who lived in a larger home on the same property as the couple\u2019s cottage, came across Diaz\u2019s body and immediately called the cops. <\/p>\n

Dicus had a few hours to spare between the murder and his swift arrest. During that window, he cruised over to the Chepes meat market where Diaz worked and stole a can of beer, which he chugged in the parking lot, according to chilling surveillance footage. <\/p>\n

A close friend of Diaz\u2019s told The Post in 2023 that Dicus was seemingly insecure about his marriage.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe posted a video saying, \u2018She is mine,\u2019 to social media, and it was weird because no one was questioning that\u2026.it was out of no where,\u201d said the pal, who asked not to be named.<\/p>\n

The friend said that she last saw Diaz at a Christmas party less than a month before she was killed. <\/p>\n

Dicus was in attendance, but abruptly stormed out \u201clooking really upset\u201d while everyone else \u201cwas having a good time,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

The pal said she suspected Diaz was a victim of domestic violence, even though \u201cshe never said there were any problems\u201d and speculated \u201cshe was just embarrassed to admit her relationship wasn\u2019t perfect.\u201d<\/p>\n

Her assumption was corroborated by local police. <\/p>\n

Mere days after Diaz was killed, Waller County Sheriff Troy Guidry revealed that the department was aware of the couple. He noted that there were prior \u201cdisturbance\u201d calls made, but nothing that matched the \u201clevel of violence\u201d in Diaz\u2019s gruesome murder.<\/p>\n
