They were beaten by the Plano East Panthers 79-28. While losing is never fun, the Wolves can’t take it too hard given the team’s big disadvantage in MaxPreps’ Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 758th, while the Panthers are ranked 38th).

As for Plano East, the win was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 22-7. Their offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they’ve scored all season.

Plano East found their leader in sophomore Arianna Robinson, who shot 50% from the field on her way to 28 points in addition to eight assists and seven boards. That makes it four consecutive games in which Robinson has scored at least a third of the Panthers’ points. Nariah Witherspoon was another key player, as she made all 6 shots she took for 15 points and seven rebounds.

We’ve got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Plano West will take on rival Rock Hill at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Plano East is set to challenge their familiar foe Prosper at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Article generated by infoSentience based on data entered on MaxPreps

Plano West extended their losing streak to nine on Friday, dropping them down to 3-16.
