Living in Lubbock sort of recalibrates your definition of success. I don’t mean that in a bad way. All I’m saying is that around here, big wins are pretty rare. Tiny, stupid, deeply specific victories? Now, those are a constant.<\/p>\n
Here’s a list of little things that feel a whole lot bigger than they should\u00a0once you\u2019ve lived here long enough.<\/p>\n

Even if it’s only a brief reprieve, or when it seems almost suspicious. For a moment, everything feels calm, your hair isn’t attacking your face, and you don’t have to fight with your car door like you’re in a WWE match.<\/p>\n

Finding a spot by the door is a total friggin’ win. I remember that my exit was under construction on and off for two years, and it drove me nuts.
