Residents in Willow Park will soon have a new \u201csmall-format\u201d hospital in town.<\/p>\n
Baylor Scott & White Health is building a new emergency hospital at 5400 E. Interstate 20 Service Road in the Parker County city.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The hospital, which will cost $15 million and is set to open at the end of the year, will boast eight inpatient beds and eight emergency department beds, as well as access to X-ray and CT imaging, according to state filings<\/a>.<\/p>\n Baylor Scott & White Health spokesperson Matthew Olivolo was not able to provide a statement to the Fort Worth Report by publication deadline.\u00a0<\/p>\n A press release<\/a> from September noted that the Willow Park site, alongside two other \u201csmall-format\u201d hospitals \u2014 one in Fort Worth\u2019s Renaissance Square and one near the Texas Motor Speedway \u2014 would serve communities where medical care required longer commutes.<\/p>\n Those four cites will \u201cadd to the eight locations currently providing comprehensive care for major and minor adult and pediatric medical emergencies across North Texas,\u201d the press release read.<\/p>\n The closest hospital to Willow Park is Medical City Weatherford, which is 10 miles away.<\/p>\n Currently, Baylor Scott & White provides primary care and family medicine to Willow Park residents at a site near the future hospital.<\/p>\n The expansion from the major nonprofit health system comes at a time of growth for hospitals in the area.\u00a0<\/p>\n Texas Health Resources recently announced<\/a> the construction of a new hospital, which will be built alongside its neighborhood care facility and orthopedic and spine surgery center. The revamped campus is set to open in 2028.<\/p>\n Willow Park\u2019s population grew from 4,936 in 2020 to 6,851 in 2024, according to U.S. Census Bureau data.
