Texas Tech men’s basketball is set to play in a big game on Saturday night. It’s so big that ESPN’s College Gameday will be in Lubbock broadcasting on Saturday morning. And when there is a big game in town and Gameday is here, normally that means students camping out.<\/p>\n
But not this time.<\/p>\n
Arctic Front Means No Camping at Texas Tech<\/p>\n
In order to protect people from themselves and to be safe, Texas Tech is banning camping on Saturday. In a social media post, Texas Tech Athletics wrote\u00a0\u201cDue to cold weather and upcoming inclement weather forecasts, camping for the basketball game Saturday will be prohibited for health and safety reasons.\u201d<\/p>\n
The high on Saturday, as of today, is forecasted to reach 17 degrees with a low of 6. That doesn’t include windchill or the fact that it could either be snowing or a wintery mix could be falling.<\/p>\n

Doors for College Gameday will open at 9am at the United Supermarkets Arena.
