Travis Scott says he still thinks about the 2021 Astroworld tragedy<\/a>. In a new Rolling Stone<\/a> cover story, Scott discussed how he doesn\u2019t want to go where he\u2019s not welcome, even if that\u2019s his hometown. \u201cI would love to heal that in the city. But I would also want people to be receptive,\u201d he said. \u201cI don\u2019t want to force a reception.\u201d<\/p>\n

Over four years ago, 10 people died and hundreds were injured at Scott\u2019s Astroworld Festival. Fans rushed the stage during Scott\u2019s headlining set, resulting in a crowd crush. The youngest person killed was 9. A Houston grand jury declined to press criminal charges<\/a> against Scott, and the rapper and LiveNation have since settled most of the resulting wrongful-death lawsuits<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Any tragedy on that scale would have impacted Scott, but that it happened in Houston weighs on him. \u201cWhen I did that festival, I was trying to bring something to where I\u2019m from,\u201d he told Rolling Stone, \u201cand when you look back, it\u2019s like a time that was supposed to be so enjoyable just went wrong.\u201d<\/p>\n
