ARLINGTON, Texas \u2014 Six Flags Over Texas has completed the world’s first-ever, longest, fastest, and tallest giga dive coaster, officials say.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The amusement park announced that construction has been completed on The Immelmann Inversion of Tormenta Rampaging Run on Wednesday.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The coaster reaches the top of the 309-foot lift hill before diving 285-feet over the edge and immediately into a 218-foot Immelmann inversion at 87 miles per hour.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The Immelmann maneuver was named after German pilot Max Immelmann when he escaped enemy fire by performing an ascending half-loop followed by a half-roll at the top, ending in the opposite direction.\u00a0<\/p>\n
