The one-day track meet will see Minnesota compete against teams like Texas Tech, Ohio State, Southern Cal\u00a0and more. The Maroon and Gold will also have competitors at\u00a0Macalester&#8217;s Vanessa Seljeskog Classic in St. Paul on January 24.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>ABOUT THE\u00a0STAN SCOTT INVITE<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\nThe 2026 Stan Scott Invite begins at 11 a.m. on Friday January 23, with the women&#8217;s shot put while the track events begin with the men&#8217;s 600 yard at the same time.\u00a0The meet is set to wrap up by 3:40 p.m. on Friday. The event is free and open to the public to attend. Texas Tech is scheduled to have a live stream of the events in Lincoln &#8211; fans can watch that live video on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/watch\/player\/_\/id\/e34efac2-9eeb-4a6b-8c3a-cafe4078e03b#bucketId=8458\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">ESPN+<\/a>. Live results will be available via\u00a0<a data-uw-original-href=\"https:\/\/pttiming.com\/event.php?mid=2730&amp;pt=schedule\" data-uw-rm-brl=\"PR\" href=\"https:\/\/www.pttiming.com\/event\/2738\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">PrimeTime\u00a0Timing<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>ABOUT THE VANESSA SELJESKOG CLASSIC<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\nThe Vanessa Seljeskog Classic begins at 11 a.m. on January 24, with the men&#8217;s weight throw while the track events begin with the 60m prelims at 11 a.m.\u00a0The meet is set\u00a0to be on a running-schedule and will conclude after the 4x400m relay. The event is free and open to the public to attend. There are two live streams available to watch, one that <a href=\"https:\/\/miacsportsnetwork.com\/macalester\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">features track events<\/a> and the other that will show <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/@MacalesterAthletics\/streams\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">field events<\/a>. Live results will be available via <a href=\"https:\/\/results.wayzatatiming.com\/meets\/60122\/live\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Wayzata Timing<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>NABWE NAMED BIG TEN&#8217;S FIELD ATHLETE\u00a0OF THE WEEK<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\nFor the second time this season redshirt junior\u00a0<a data-uw-original-href=\"https:\/\/gophersports.com\/sports\/womens-track-and-field\/roster\/anthonett-nabwe\/23817\" data-uw-rm-brl=\"PR\" href=\"https:\/\/gophersports.com\/sports\/womens-track-and-field\/roster\/anthonett-nabwe\/23817\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"23817\" target=\"_blank\">Anthonett Nabwe<\/a>\u00a0has earned\u00a0the Big Ten Field Athlete of the Week honor, the conference office announced on January 22.\u00a0Nabwe has won eight weekly honors from the Big Ten in her career, and has claimed two of the three weekly honors she has qualified for this season.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The two-time Big Ten champion won the weight throw at the 2026 Graduate Classic with a toss of 23.26m (76-3 3\/4), marking the 11th consecutive regular season competition she has won dating back to her last non-victory on Feb. 3, 2024 (Gopher Classic). Despite the 23.26m (76-3 3\/4) toss in Lincoln not being a lifetime or season best, the redshirt junior&#8217;s winning weight throw mark would still put Nabwe at No. 1 in the NCAA this season with the No. 2 toss currently being 22.95m (75-3 1\/2) from Akaoma Odeluga\u00a0of Ole Miss. Nabwe was also the runner-up in the women&#8217;s shot put at the Graduate Classic with a season-best throw of 16.86m (55-3 3\/4), good enough for the fifth-best in the Big Ten this year.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>WIRTH BRINGS HOME WORLD BRONZE MEDAL<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\nFor the first time in history,\u00a0the United States of America secured a U20 World Cross Country Championships men&#8217;s team medal finish on home soil on January 10, in Tallahassee.\u00a0Minnesota&#8217;s\u00a0<a data-uw-original-href=\"https:\/\/gophersports.com\/sports\/mens-cross-country\/roster\/salvador-wirth\/23621\" data-uw-rm-brl=\"PR\" href=\"https:\/\/gophersports.com\/sports\/mens-cross-country\/roster\/salvador-wirth\/23621\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"23621\" target=\"_blank\">Salvador Wirth<\/a>\u00a0finished 30th overall, and fifth among the U.S. competitors, to aid the team finish that brought home the red, white and blue a bronze medal.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Wirth competed alongside Minnesota teammates\u00a0<a data-uw-original-href=\"https:\/\/gophersports.com\/sports\/womens-cross-country\/roster\/norah-hushagen\/23643\" data-uw-rm-brl=\"PR\" href=\"https:\/\/gophersports.com\/sports\/womens-cross-country\/roster\/norah-hushagen\/23643\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"23643\" target=\"_blank\">Norah Hushagen<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a data-uw-original-href=\"https:\/\/gophersports.com\/sports\/womens-cross-country\/roster\/avery-marasco-johnson\/23645\" data-uw-rm-brl=\"PR\" href=\"https:\/\/gophersports.com\/sports\/womens-cross-country\/roster\/avery-marasco-johnson\/23645\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"23645\" target=\"_blank\">Avery Marasco-Johnson<\/a>, who ran for the women&#8217;s team at Apalachee Regional Park. The University of Minnesota was the only NCAA team to have three representatives on the U20 rosters. Wirth clocked an 8K time of 25:39 on a course that included non-traditional features like\u00a0<a data-uw-original-href=\"https:\/\/www.letsrun.com\/news\/2026\/01\/sand-mud-gators-your-guide-to-the-2026-world-cross-country-course\/\" data-uw-rm-brl=\"PR\" href=\"https:\/\/www.letsrun.com\/news\/2026\/01\/sand-mud-gators-your-guide-to-the-2026-world-cross-country-course\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">a man-made &#8216;rollercoaster&#8217; hill, a sand pit, a water pit, a mud pit and alligator logs to hurdle<\/a>. Hushagen ran to a 53rd-place finish (22:33.0) in her U.S. debut while Marasco-Johnson\u00a0came across in 58th overall (23:01.0) and helped Team USA finish in fourth overall (108 points). Additionally, Minnesota signee Oliver Crowe finished 54th in the same U20 men&#8217;s race on Saturday for Team Canada in his first appearance on the world stage for his home country.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>LAST TIME OUT<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\nThe University of Minnesota track and field team completed the Graduate Classic in Lincoln, Neb., and picked up six victories from January 16-17.\u00a0<a data-uw-original-href=\"https:\/\/gophersports.com\/sports\/womens-track-and-field\/roster\/zoie-dundon\/23805\" data-uw-rm-brl=\"PR\" href=\"https:\/\/gophersports.com\/sports\/womens-track-and-field\/roster\/zoie-dundon\/23805\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"23805\" target=\"_blank\">Zoie Dundon<\/a>\u00a0won both the women&#8217;s mile and the 800m while\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gophersports.com\/sports\/womens-track-and-field\/roster\/victory-godah\/23806\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"23806\" target=\"_blank\">Victory Godah<\/a>\u00a0claimed the top spot in the 60m and the 200m.<\/p>\n<p>Dundon&#8217;s weekend started with the mile on Friday, posting a lifetime best 4:38.77 to win the event and in the process ran to No. 3 all-time on the program&#8217;s top 10 list. Dundon is now the sixth Gopher to go below 4:39 in the indoor mile. On Saturday in the 800m Dundon ran to a win in a time of 2:06.65, improving on her previous lifetime best (2:06.70) that still has her at No. 8 all-time at Minnesota.\u00a0Godah picked up wins in the 60m and the 200m, running times of 7.52 and 24.45 in the process. <a data-uw-original-href=\"https:\/\/gophersports.com\/sports\/womens-track-and-field\/roster\/ellie-kuechle\/23810\" data-uw-rm-brl=\"PR\" href=\"https:\/\/gophersports.com\/sports\/womens-track-and-field\/roster\/ellie-kuechle\/23810\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"23810\" target=\"_blank\">Ellie Kuechle<\/a>\u00a0won the women&#8217;s 600m in a lifetime best performance of 1:32.48, about one second off the program&#8217;s all-time top 10 list.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>UP NEXT<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\nNext weekend Minnesota&#8217;s team will split up between competing at home at the Jack Johnson Classic on January 30, while another portion of the squad will travel to South Bend, Ind., for the Meyo Invitational from January 30-31.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>For more information on the Gophers, continue to check back with GopherSports.com.
