LUBBOCK, Texas (January 22, 2026) \u2013 Former Lubbock Christian baseball player Tim Leslie was announced as a 2026 inductee to the Lubbock ISD Athletics Hall of Honor in a class that was announced on Wednesday.
\n\u00a0
\nLeslie joins seven individuals that will be inducted at a ceremony is scheduled for July 18 at the Memorial Civic Center. A graduate of Monterey High School, he had a .373 career batting average for the Plainsmen and was a member of the 1974 state champion team.
\n\u00a0
\nA two-time First Team All-American in his Chaparral career, Leslie made an impact right away, batting .297 as a freshman to help LCC and their “Kiddie Corps” reach the NAIA World Series for the first time in program history.
\n\u00a0
\nLeslie hit .374 in his Lubbock Christian career while playing in 287 games, which is the third most in school history. He is still the school record-holder in runs batted in (295) while ranking second in doubles (66), total hits (350), fourth in home runs (59) and 10th in runs scored (231).
\n\u00a0
\nAfter his stellar sophomore season in which he hit .417, he toured Korea and Taiwan as a part of an NAIA All-Star Team, and he led the Chaps back to the NAIA World Series as a senior.
\n\u00a0
\nIn 1990, along with being inducted into the LCU Athletic Hall of Honor, Leslie was honored as a member of the NAIA Baseball Hall of Fame.\u00a0

\nAn Academic All-American selection as well, Leslie majored in biology while in school and went on to become a dentist who practiced in the Lubbock area.\u00a0
