TSA\u00a0is rolling out ConfirmID\u00a0nationwide at\u00a0airport security checkpoints\u00a0beginning February 1, 2026.<\/p>\n<p>ConfirmID\u00a0provides an optional identity verification process for travelers without a Real ID. TSA\u00a0officials say the fee is $45.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re going to have to verify your identity.\u00a0And in the past, we were putting that on the taxpayers to pay for everybody,\u00a0but now we\u2019re putting that back on the traveler,\u201d Dave Fitz with TSA\u2019s regional office told ABC-7.<\/p>\n<p>TSA adds those who opt in to the ConfirmID\u00a0should anticipate additional time to be screened.<\/p>\n<p>BE PART OF THE CONVERSATION<\/p>\n<p>KVIA ABC 7 is committed to providing a forum for civil and constructive conversation.<\/p>\n<p>Please keep your comments respectful and relevant.
