{"id":134700,"date":"2026-01-23T05:43:10","date_gmt":"2026-01-23T05:43:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/134700\/"},"modified":"2026-01-23T05:43:10","modified_gmt":"2026-01-23T05:43:10","slug":"lake-travis-isd-board-of-trustees-approves-may-election-order-for-2-seats","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/134700\/","title":{"rendered":"Lake Travis ISD board of trustees approves May election order for 2 seats"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\tPlace 6 and 7 on the Lake Travis ISD <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ltisdschools.org\/leadership\/board-of-trustees\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">board of trustees<\/a> will be on the ballot in May following the board&#8217;s approval of an order calling for the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ltisdschools.org\/leadership\/board-of-trustees\/board-elections\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">election<\/a> during its Jan. 21 meeting.<\/p>\n<p>The gist<\/p>\n<p>Places 6 and 7 are currently held by trustees Robert Aird and Keely Cano, respectively, who were both first elected in 2023. Aird previously served as board vice president, and Cano as board secretary.<\/p>\n<p>District administration has budgeted $75,000 for election costs, which will come from the district&#8217;s general operating fund, Chief Financial Officer Pam Sanchez said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The election [cost] will depend on how many other municipalities are participating at the same time to reduce our cost,&#8221; Sanchez said. &#8220;If we&#8217;re the lone one, then it could be quite expensive.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>If the place 6 and 7 seats are uncontested the election will be canceled, Sanchez said.
