{"id":135698,"date":"2026-01-23T23:01:10","date_gmt":"2026-01-23T23:01:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/135698\/"},"modified":"2026-01-23T23:01:10","modified_gmt":"2026-01-23T23:01:10","slug":"richardson-announces-city-facility-closures-this-weekend-due-to-winter-weather","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/135698\/","title":{"rendered":"Richardson announces city facility closures this weekend due to winter weather"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\tRichardson <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cor.net\/Home\/Components\/News\/News\/8519\/149\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">announced<\/a> that all city facilities will be closed this weekend due to <a href=\"https:\/\/communityimpact.com\/dallas-fort-worth\/frisco\/weather\/2026\/01\/21\/arctic-cold-front-expected-to-bring-wintry-mix-below-zero-wind-chills-to-dallas-fort-worth?beehiiv_id=izeff@communityimpact.com&amp;utm_source=newsletter.communityimpact.com&amp;utm_medium=newsletter&amp;utm_campaign=dtx-ric-impact-1-22-2026\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">severe winter weather<\/a> moving into Dallas-Fort Worth later today.<\/p>\n<p>What you need to know<\/p>\n<p>All city facilities will close at 6 p.m. today and will remain closed through Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>The following facilities will be closed Jan. 24-25:<\/p>\n<p>Richardson Animal ShelterEisemann CenterRichardson Gymnastics CenterHeights Recreation CenterHuffhines Recreation CenterHuffhines Tennis CenterRichardson Public LibraryRichardson IQHQRichardson Senior CenterSherrill Park Golf CourseThe closures do not include the city\u2019s three emergency <a href=\"https:\/\/communityimpact.com\/dallas-fort-worth\/richardson\/government\/2026\/01\/22\/richardson-prepares-warming-centers-ahead-of-winter-weather\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">warming centers<\/a>, which will be open through the weekend to provide temporary shelter.<\/p>\n<p>What else<\/p>\n<p>Possible closures on Monday will be announced on Sunday.
