LUBBOCK, Texas \u2013 The No. 21 Texas Tech Lady Raiders continued their strong start to the spring season with a dominant 4-0 sweep over Long Beach State on Friday afternoon at The Falls Tennis & Athletic Club. Texas Tech improved to 3-0 for the year, while the Beach dropped to 0-1.

\nThe Lady Raiders earned early momentum by securing the doubles point on courts one and two. The duo of Mariia Hlahola<\/a> and Kseniia Logvin<\/a> got the Lady Raiders on the board first with a 6-4 win on court two over Diana De Simone and Pamela Badillo. Moments later, No. 75-ranked Yekaterina Dmitrichenko<\/a> and Hailey Murphy<\/a> clinched the doubles point on court one with a 6-3 victory against Thea Jagare and Cecilia Costa.

\nSingles play followed with the Lady Raiders quickly extending their lead. Logvin struck first on court four, cruising to a 6-0, 6-3 win over Daria Malaescu to give the Lady Raiders a 2-0 lead. No. 110-ranked Murphy followed on court two, earning a 6-3, 6-2 victory against De Simone. Hlahola then sealed the match on court three, battling through a tight second set to defeat Costa, 6-1, 7-6 (1), just seconds before Dmitrichenko could end her match on court one up 6-4, 5-2 on Jagare.

\nUp next, the Lady Raiders continue ITA Kickoff Weekend on Saturday at The Falls Tennis & Athletic Club against either Oklahoma State University or Wichita State University at 2 p.m.
